My classroom alone is comprised of 83% English Language Learners and almost 90% of them are on free or reduced lunch. We strive to prepare our students with college- and career-ready skills enabling them to lead in a globally connected economy and society. Getting access of the technology to use in my classroom is especially motivating at my school/classroom because most of them do not even have computers and/or Internet access at their homes. My students so enjoy working in collaboration with each other. I build in frequent opportunities for students to share with one another, through pair-share, small groups, and collaborative projects. In these activities it becomes evident that student learning takes place as they engage in conversation on the topics we are studying in class. This is multiplied ten-fold when technology is an added component.
This project meets our goal to create a 21st Century vision which embraces the idea of educating today’s students to be tomorrow’s leaders.
