My students' live in a low income community. They come from low income families whose parents are farm workers. More families move into this town every year given that it is surrounded by farms which provide jobs for these families. As a result, the population in the school is growing so fast that the computer center and the music room had to be eliminated and turned into regular classrooms. Therefore, the students no longer have a computer center where they can explore and learn with the use of technology, nor they have a place where they can learn about the essentials of music and appreciate its beauty. Unfortunately, a very low percentage of these student s end up graduating from college. I believe they can reach their potential and they can reach very high if they are given the tools and the support they need in order to succeed.
