Enterprising BA students recently started a gardening club but we need supplies and a place to store them to begin our campus beautification projects. The campus recently received a grant to build a greenhouse on campus, but as a new program, we still need more supplies to really get the ball rolling!
Large scale projects for the new BA gardening club include beautifying the campus courtyards with native Texas plants that attract pollinators and starting a community garden. These project ideas are all student generated by kids who want to build a lasting legacy on this campus.
The gardening club will be playing a key role in curricular support for our biology, AP Environmental Science, and culinary arts classes by caring for plants that will later be used for study, dissection, and cooking! By helping care for these plants, the gardening club will help support learning outcomes for close to 500 of their fellow students!
