My class is full of thirty- four energetic, diverse sixth graders. We are one of three sixth grades in a K-6 elementary school. My students vary in that my class is made up of a cluster of GATE identified students, as well as a few RSP (resource specialist program) students, a special needs and an ELL (english language learner) student. They come from varying backgrounds and family situations as well. While many come from "traditional" family situations, several are part of dual households with divorced parents, are being raised by a single parent, or live with another relative who is helping to raise them. This makes for an interesting, exciting and challenging classroom environment.
