My students love to read! As third graders, they are excited to begin reading chapter books. Each year my students are challenged to read the Florida Sunshine State book titles. These books are award-winning literature that is appealing to students and fun to read. Students are recognized for challenging themselves to read as many of the titles as possible. Because these books are so popular, they are often checked out from our media center. My classroom needs a set of the Sunshine State books so that students will readily have access to these books they are so motivated to read.
My students also participate in computer-based learning in both math and reading. They bring in their own headphones each year, but they typically are lost or broken quickly. Many of my parents can not afford to continually replace their scholar's headphones. Therefore, my classroom needs a class set of sturdy headphones that will hold up to daily usage.
