My students are a collaborative, caring, and inquisitive group of 6th graders between the ages of 11- 12. My students live in a community that is plagued by poverty, drugs, and crime and yet they enter my classroom each morning hungry to learn. Because of the extreme level of poverty, the majority of my students do not have access to a computer/Internet in their home.
The school has over 850 students with teachers teaching preK- 8th grade. The administration has made great strides in creating a positive culture and climate within the school as well as increasing the level of parent and community involvement.
