My students live in an impoverish neighborhood of Chicago, and yet, as an educator, I am prepping them to be college ready. They are strong willed and determined to prove their statistics wrong and be successful in high school and college. However, as they live in poverty, they are unable to compete nation wide against those schools who are more well off than ours.
