I have 2 classes of 1st graders. They are funny, excited, and come wanting to learn! All of my students are on free or reduced lunch. They live in a high crime neighborhood, and love coming to school. I am greeted every morning with hugs, or stories of what happened last night; most of the time they just want to feel important.
We have a school of 600 students from preschool- 6th grade. My students love structure and love working for compliments. We have had 5 compliment parties and we are known as one of the best behaved classes in the school. We are learning how to communicate with each other, how to handle our anger towards others, and how to be respectful. We are also learning how to tie our shoes!
My students range from not knowing the difference between a letter and a number to beginning to add and subtract. Each one of my students is special and unique! I cherish every moment I have with them!
