My sixth grade students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. They live in a large urban school district that is high in poverty. They are thoughtful, caring, and very impressionable at their age, and remain undeterred from the horrors that surround them on a daily basis. They yearn to learn and attend school everyday. They showcase creative and imaginative abilities when given opportunities. My students respond well to the use of technology. Using technology, all modalities of learning are covered. My students live in a high crime ridden area in which majority of them walk to and from school everyday. Many do not own computers or have Internet access, and going to the library is also not an option due to the abundance of crime in the area.
