There are two second grade classes composed of 25-30 students. Most of the students come from a free or reduced lunch families. The students are linguistically diverse and most of them are English language learners.
They are students take responsibility of their behavior and learning. This is manifested in the way they set their learning goals on a daily basis and assess themselves at the end of the day.
These studnets take pride in their learning by ensuring that they reach the mastery level of 80% and above in every learnign goals they have.
These students also live the school core values of discovery, respect, empathy, achievement and motivation. On a daily basis, they monitor their behavior and the educational choices they make based on these core values.
