We are a rapidly changing diverse school with an increasing number of second language learners. Many of my students are learning to speak English with no language support from home, as many of their parents speak only limited English. The school population is 43% low income, so many families do not have reading materials or the ability to support additional reading instruction at home. I want to provide my students with as much exposure to literature as possible to support their language needs.
