The 29 kindergarteners in our class are working towards independence. Yes, that is right. We start early! They are learning to read, write and work with numbers but they are also learning how to learn. My students need 2 iPads to help them be more independent and motivated during our small group instruction time. I have found some awesome applications for the iPads that would help my Kindergarten students to practice key concepts in reading, writing and math and help them problem solve as well.
We live in California, where the state of education is rapidly declining. With the increase in class size from 20 students to 31 students, the extra time to spend on key concepts has been cut. Having two new iPads in the class would benefit students by helping them to review concepts taught and practice them independently and with a partner.
