My students come from various cultural backgrounds and speak a variety of languages and for many of them, English is not their first language. Furthermore, many of my students come from socioeconomically disadvantaged homes. Continued practice of vocabulary development is important in all core subjects. They need dictionaries to expand their vocabulary and excel in school! I want my students to have access to the curriculum regardless of what language they speak or other hardships they may be facing at home.
