Students will be asked to create a scene from the novel they are reading. They will need to include the information they have read along with inferred information about how the character is dealing with the situation. Students will include a written reflection of how the scene was created, what they learned about the character, and provide a written account of how the scene would be different if shown from a different character's perspective.
Students have not been able to work with art supplies or demonstrate their skills through hands-on projects. While reading a novel, they will be given multiple opportunities to provide physical evidence of their learning. All of this will be done without creating a product electronically. This will allow students to engage their minds in a different way and demonstrate their creativity and problem-solving skills. The markers, personal whiteboards, and art supplies will allow students to choose their own tools.
