Due to the pandemic, many of my students did not attend preschool before heading off to kindergarten. Many pre-kindergarten skills, such as letter identification and number recognition, were not acquired before entering our classroom. Not only does this include academic skills, but social-emotional skills as well. These supplemental materials and resources will help to build strong foundational skills in reading, writing, and math. Some activities reinforce content such as alphabet knowledge and number sense, others focus on problem solving skills, communication, and cooperative learning. Building a strong foundation in kindergarten will help to foster success in first grade.
