Managing a middle school classroom is challenging. I plan to use the Ipad in my classroom for movement around the classroom. I will hook it up to the document camera or computer in the classroom and project onto the projection screen. All these items make reading more engaging and fun. I understand being a teacher means paying for things. I buy the pencils, pens and even the copy paper when it runs low. The items I listed on my page are essential in presenting information in a multimedia format. It will make lessons more engaging and fun, therefore students will retain more information. I have also found Scholastic Scope is great for not only struggling readers but advanced as well. The pictures are in full color and the topics are timely and align with standards. I have several ELL students in my classroom as they were displaced from the hurricane. I hope to reach them with the digital program that enhances their vocabulary in the English language. Many parents have asked for English lessons for their children. I wish I could, but there is so little time! I hope the program will help them, along with the Flocabulary I plan to use with all of my students.
My students are inquisitive and fun and they deserve the same education as those in higher socioeconomic areas! I hope to level the playing field a little bit with these materials. I have been teaching for over 15 years and the demands have increased with little to no assistance in how to achieve these demands. I appreciate any assistance in helping my students achieve their goals.
Thank you for visiting my page and here's to a wonderful school year!
