The students at my school come from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. Most students come from a low socioeconomic status and students speak a variety of languages. Our school is courageously attempting to educate students in innovative ways that will prepare them with skills needed for the 21st century. In our dedication to help them take ownership of their own learning and to be flexible thinkers, we are trying out a new learning space. The space provides opportunities for students to work in small and large groups and to collaborate with teachers and one another. We are hoping to equip students with the skills they will need to be successful in middle school, high school, advanced education, and life.
