Due to hearing loss, my students have below grade-level language skills. The Covid-19 pandemic made their gaps even wider. Due to the limits of distance education, my students missed out on a lot of language and experiences that they would have gotten at school.
The Occulus Quest VR experience will give them the opportunity to explore topics in a visual manner that will help to bridge their language gaps, while increasing their background knowledge and comprehension. It will also increase their attention and focus on a topic and bring some fun into the classroom while we work to increase their academic achievement.
