We are from a public elementary school located in the suburbs of Washington DC. Here we face the challenges of many similar urban school districts. Our building was built in 1967. Much of the furniture and equipment is original to the school. Funding is extremely limited in our district which has been hit particularly hard by the recent recession. Despite these economic hardships my students are particularly enthusiastic about learning and come to school excited and eager. They are creative and anxious to make us proud.
