My students are primarily second language learners whose families' home languages include Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Mongolian, and Spanish. We are a true community school located in Oakland's Chinatown wherein most students walk to school and families utilize the adjacent community center, shop at the local stores, visit the nearby library and frequent the neighborhood restaurants.
Our school as a whole has a strong academic program and achievement. Science and environmental education is a cornerstone of our curriculum, particularly in the upper grades.
