My students love the opportunity to read in the classroom, but few of them have that option outside of school. Many students come from low-income families and do not have the good fortune of being able to have numerous books at their disposal. For some students, the books they get from the classroom library are the only books that they are reading. They love to sit and discuss their guided reading books, but due to resources, they do not have the option of doing that very often.
