I teach a fabulous group of 28 second graders who are eager to learn! Our school is in a rural community and is surrounded by cornfields. Most of our students come from families with careers in agriculture or mining. One thing that makes our school unique is our community's sense of loyalty and importance of family values. Yes, we are fortunate to have this support and family values ingrained in our students, but we struggle just like all other schools do with funding for all the "extras" that help make our students successful learners and excel in their learning experience.
