The stream tables will be used to foster cooperative, investigative learning and problem solving as we study rivers and their features, as well as what happens when those rivers flood.
They will also be used to investigate how ground contaminants get into our ground water and into or other bodies of water. And let them see what can happen if commercial or agricultural wastes are not disposed of correctly or if guidelines are not followed.
The stream tables will also allow use to look at erosion patterns both in rivers and at the coast, in order to investigate possible solutions to these ecological issues and perhaps allow them to come up with some engineering ideas about how to keep our buildings safer and our beaches and riverbanks in place.
