My students come from a high poverty Title I school. Many of them come from poor and struggling families and have had little exposure to fun engaging materials. Each student is unique and because of the low socioeconomic standing of our community the achievement gap is very broad. Having engaging and exciting manipulatives and math workstations will give them an opportunity to close the gap and inspire a thirst for knowledge that can take them really far, not just in my classroom but throughout their education.
