We recently rescued three hermit crabs whose owner was unable to care for them. What better way to incorporate a hands-on learning experience for curious second graders than creating a hermit crab habitat? In order to do this it is important to use a heating gauge, an indoor thermometer and humidity gauge, and a thermostat controller to keep the correct temperature. Providing dried mealworms and shrimp will help students learn more about their diets, and adding fresh water and salt water bowls with a water filter will help provide the hermit crab with a more natural environment.
Creating a habitat for our hermit crabs will provide a fun opportunity for students to learn first hand what it takes to care for them. Using materials like Eco Earth, plants, climbing nets, and hiding areas, these will help to make their environment active. Thank you for supporting our crab habitat.
