My first graders come to me with an eagerness to learn that inspires me to teach them all I can. With that comes the reality that our students need to be prepared to compete in a global economy that demands innovation! Reading is still the KEY to being successful, today's technology has added a new twist in gaining the necessary skills needed and developing the love for reading that captures their imagination! My students live in a small rural community. The majority of students are low income with limited resources. As funding has been affected by the economy we do not have the ability to purchase items that we know would be useful in teaching our students. Although resources may be limited this does not limit the desire they have for learning and using technology.
