My students are a broad mix from a suburban-rural community. Our school is in year-round operation and serves grades K-5. All of the students who are tracked in at a given time will come to see me in the library once a week to check out books for personal reading. We have about 50,000 books checked out a year - many of which are the very popular graphic novels! Wear and tear increases the need for replacement materials. Familiarity with current selections increases the demand for new selections.
