My students are from an underprivileged urban setting in Illinois. Many of their parents do not speak English and can often times not be of assistance to their child and their homework. This has not discouraged them and their love for learning. Many days they ask to stay after school to get extra help or work on projects because of lack of supplies or Internet access at home.
