My students come from a public school in a rural area of San Joaquin Valley in the state of California. One of the hardest hit areas by the economic down turn. They understand what it is like to go without and appreciate what is given to them. As a teacher we cannot expect these students to contribute to the classroom for materials and other curriculum based products to better out classroom. They truly enjoy out of the norm lessons and experiences.
