My students come from homes where parents usually work two jobs to provide for their families. These are students whose parents work hard to ensure that their children go to school everyday and that they can someday go to college. Most of my students are English language learners who have the desire to learn and work hard everyday. Ninety-two percent of students at my school come from low-income homes. At my school we have created a family environment where all students help and motivate each other to learn and to do their personal best in every way they can. These students need to have the opportunity to have the materials they need to learn science.
