My class is comprised of special need high school students. Our focus includes functional academics, daily living skills, vocational readiness and developing independent living skills. Classes are taught across the curriculum. Included in our school day are opportunities for job skill development and vocational readiness. Our job skill training is currently being done "in house" rather than in the community. Through the years we have had a variety of job training options within our school environment which have given the students social opportunities to develop their communication skills, including the Cougar Coffee Cart and Cougar Central (an in school store) which has been instrumental in helping people see capabilities as opposed to challenges. :)
