There are 120 students signed up for basketball class through our Physical Education Department. Since we are over 66% free or reduced lunch, many do not have a basketball to use. We have been in Equity trainings all year long and now is the time to help step up and ensure equal access for kids living in poverty. This class will last 18 weeks and we will be helping students learn and excel at the game of basketball. Since many kids in our community don't get the chance to play basketball growing up, this will be the first real training for many. At best, they will be in school two days a week and learning remote the other three days. So it will be imperative they have access to their own ball in order to learn and grow throughout the semester.
