At-risk male readers are the hardest to get excited about reading. I am hoping that having books that interest them, such as nonfiction sports, will help bridge the gap and make them into readers. I will make sure to build connections with my at-risk male population and see what types of sports they are interested in. I’m hoping this project will allow me to give them a variety of books to choose from. Currently, our sports section is limited and out-of-date. I feel that if these young men find books that interest them we can parlay it into fiction books that they will enjoy.

About my class
