Students will be learning about alternative energy and how mud can be used to make electricity. This will be an engineering activity, so students will be able to collect soil samples from different places and add substances to them to optimize the fuel cells. Then, they will test the mud using our ORP sensors, which measure electrical activity. Finally, they will learn about how the fuel cells are constructed and make their own. They will collect data over time to see if they can increase the power output of the fuel cells. These fuel cells will be reusable, so I can use them for students in the future.
