Students at our school come from primarily two very different backgrounds. On one hand, we have students who come from some of the most affluent families in our area with an abundance of life experiences. On the other hand, some of our students come from homes where minimum wage jobs support the families the best they can. These students generally lack life experiences upon which to draw for a deeper understanding of topics covered in the classroom. Our challenge is to shrink the gap between these groups of students by providing opportunities to gain experiences for some and enrichment for those who need that as well.
