I am a special education teacher in an urban, public school. The elementary school where I teach has 750 enrolled students. Over 650 students currently qualify for the free/reduced price lunch program. We have a free lunch program in the summer, backpacks for students to have food on the weekends and long breaks, fresh fruits and vegetables for a snack throughout the day, and free food pantries every month for our students' families. Our students are hard workers who enjoy coming to school and need assisstance with getting high interest, engaging materials in their hands.
