I have twenty energetic second graders, who refer to themselves as "readers, writers, and problem solvers!" Our school is located in a rural town in the Mississippi Delta, and most students do not have the opportunity to experience people and places outside of their hometown. Our elementary school is 100% free or reduced lunch, and is 97% African-American. My students have a love for learning, and show this joy through the dedication and tenacity they show everyday.
