My students are amazing. In addition to the struggles associated with growing up, many of these teenagers also struggle with challenges such as poverty, unstable homes, and transiency. Although many of my students are expected to work to help pay the rent and to babysit younger siblings while their guardians work multiple jobs, they still come to school each day ready to learn and improve their lives through pursuing an education.
