I am requesting 1 new carpet to support our classroom community. This large carpet will provide my students with a wonderful gathering place where we can grow our classroom community. We start every morning with a meeting where we welcome each other with a greeting, share about ourselves and join in team building activities. It's very important to have a space large enough for everyone so no one is left out. We also gather at the carpet for whole group lessons and read-alouds. During independent work times, some student really love having a place to stretch out to read or write. The carpet area is the center of our classroom community.
