Our school serves a small town in a rural district where just under 50% of the students qualify for free and reduced lunches.
Many of the students don't have the opportunity to travel to other parts of the country or even to other parts of the state as their families are only able to afford the basics in life. These children don't have the background of life experiences that students in more affluent communities bring to school.
