"Who are they and what are they like?" you ask. The truth is, I don't know yet, but I'm excited to find out! After thirteen years, I decided it was time for a change so I left the third grade and agreed to take on a group of fifth graders. Unfortunately, the only thing new in my classroom appears to be my sense of adventure! The room definitely needs some sprucing up!!
When I became a teacher, I promised myself I'd never be the boring teacher in the dingy room with the peeling posters that looked at least 10 years old! Well, I've done all I can to make the classroom look fun and exciting. Granted, looks aren't as important as the learning, but it helps to be in a place that feels warm and inviting! I'm also doing my best to create exciting, hands-on learning opportunities. But when it comes to the ancient chalkboards, there's nothing more I can do.
I don't know all of the kids in my class yet, but whoever they are, they deserve the best I can give them! Please help me!
