Who am I talking to? My students really want to see who they are writing to and getting suggestions from. With an iPad mini and Skype cameras we can put our work on the screen and look at the same writing together while looking at each too! We will use these tools to enhance our Pen Pal program and to become authors. We are a third grade classroom that includes a variety of hands-on experiences with our learning. I have 22 students with a wide variety of backgrounds. I typically have students from several nationalities. Not all of my students have access to computers, iPads, and other technology. Most of my students really struggle with the writing process. They enter third grade with a fear of doing a lot of writing and test preparation. I want to ease those fears by including technology and peer interaction.
