Cactus View Elementary is a Title I school with over half of the students qualifying for a free or reduced lunch. Many of my students come from homes that lack educational resources. Many of these students come into school already at risk of failing Arizona's state tests.
Many of my students' parents work at least two jobs which doesn't allow them to give the extra attention and help to their child that so many of them need. My students are a loving energetic eager to learn group of 5-6 year olds. They love hands-on learning activities and strive to please their teacher and each other.
Cactus View struggles to provide working efficient computers in the classroom. Currently I have three computer laptops in my room that work only 35% of the time.
