I will begin my journey teaching during the "foundational years" with what I know will be an amazing group of kids. They are mostly a Spanish-speaking, low income population of students. Our school is a Title One school. At our school, children are excited to win a free book--many are used, that they may take home and keep because most don't even have books of their own at home. How can they learn to love what they do not have around them? It is for that reason that I need to build a classroom library for them, so that they may be surrounded with engaging books to choose from.
