My students come from low income families and our school is categorized as Title 1 (low income). They face many challenges in and out of school that little ones should never have to deal with. My students love coming to school and learning. The majority of my students came into Kindergarten with no knowledge of letters, colors, sounds, shapes, limited vocabulary, and a full year behind according to reading level. By the end of the year 85% of my students were reading at or above a Kindergarten grade level.
