The swing will enable students to regulate their emotions. It will also help them to use calming strategies and self-regulate their emotions. My students are always learning new strategies to help them manage their emotions when feeling stressed in difficult situations. Social-emotional learning is critical for my population of students. This swing will serve a population of over 85 students with significant disabilities of the ages of 18-22 years old. Although the LIFE program's main focus is to help students be employable, being able to regulate emotions is the first step.
