This project will give students another opportunity to read and another type of text to read. With this magazine, students will also make connections between reading, math content, and the real world. This type of text will also increase interest in math and reading because articles are entertaining and geared toward middle school students.
This project will make a difference in my students' learning because it will supply them with more opportunities to read. The more information they read, the more opportunities they will have to discuss and connect math content to real-world happenings. With more opportunities to read, and more types of text to read, their reading (and language) skills will improve, as well as their math skills.
