My students are good kids. They are just, for the most part, poor. We have a very diverse, multi-cultural student body. We have Anglo, African-American, and Hispanic students harmoniously mixed in with basically every other race and creed assembled from around the world, including refugees brought to the state by the UN. Our school is among the oldest in Arizona. It is 102 years old, older than statehood, and many of the buildings are very old, as are the books, technologies, and supplies. Our students fight many battles, and for the most part succeed in life.

About my class
