My students are like all kids -- they are energetic and they love their recess! They attend an urban public school in a socially and economically challenged neighborhood. We have a good size playground with a playscape, but little in the way of playground toys that encourage physical activity. Many do not play outside after school because their parents are concerned for their safety, so recess is their primary opportunity for physical activity.
