Looking around my classroom, one will not see a whole lot of diversity. The majority of my students are Caucasian, born to those who also grew up here. Many of my students come from single parent households living at, or below, the poverty level. Many of my students do not have the finances to contribute to school supplies. Those who can contribute do so. The school atmosphere is supportive and welcoming to all families. Getting parents involved and keeping them informed is of great importance to all our staff, just as it is in my classroom.
